deerWhit is at camp, opening the systems, water, generators and the rest. Only the hardy and unknowing would weather this place for the whole winter. The toughness and grace the resident animals have to persist through this climate is inspiring. As well, the simple rustic buildings alter slightly to the frost, but fall back into the footprints of past seasons. 161 years of rising and falling to the seasons gives me hope for a renewed excitement as the fishing season starts on Lower Richardson Lake. We look forward to seeing our wonderful guests in the coming months.
