Meet your hosts
Your hosts at Lakewood Camps are Whit and Maureen Carter. The son of three generations of Rangeley region fly fisherman, Whit was born in nearby North Conway, New Hampshire. He attended Boat school in Pemaquid Maine, and owned a small construction business in Massachusetts before embarking on a lifestyle change with Maureen and the puppies in 2001.
Maureen is a native of Beverly Massachusetts. With exceptional intuition and management experience, she has a knack for hiring, training and more importantly, keeping our wonderful staff happy. Apart from the big trout and beautiful scenery, she’s the reason fisherman and families from across the country make their way here every spring and summer. Lakewood wouldn’t be Lakewood without her kind spirit and patience.
